26th August Edinburgh

Had a great shoot today with Angie, an amazing model in Edinburgh. We found a great location and shot some great images for her portfolio.

24th August Joanne and Nicky

Today was the wedding of Joanne Davison and Nicky Cowie, both of Oldfield Terrace Thurso. They got ready at Kincraig House Hotel, Invergordon, before heading to Dornoch cathedral for the wedding. The recpetion was back at Kincraig House. It was an amazing day - but yes, too sunny!! Never happy!! Anyway it was my first wedding at Dornoch Cathedral and it was great - what a wonderful place! Video was by Colin at Video Viewpoint.

17th Joanna and Simon

Today was the wedding of Joanna Laing and Simon Copsey, both of Bridge Street halkirk. They were married at BigHouse Lodge, Melvich.
Cars were by Prestige Cars in Lybster.
Joanna got ready at Northcote St in Wick, which proved very handy for an impromptu trip on a zip slide in full bridalwear.

11th August Norelle and Steve

What a day! Poured rain most of the day which was a real pain as Norelle and Steve Calder-MacPhee had chosen an amazing venue for their wedding, at Ledard farm near Aberfoyle. They were due to be married at the foot of a waterfall but it was too wet. Luckily the sun broke for a while and we got some great pictures around the venue. Norelle is originally from Castletown, the couple now stay in Falkirk. Great to travel so far for a wedding but know so many people. It was a very nice wedding and a great venue.

4th August Carys and Richard

Todays wedding was Carys Lavery from Reiss and Richard Thain from Staxigoe. They were married at the brides home in Reiss, in her garden. This proved a slight problem as the strong winds threatened to destroy the marquees but they survived!
Flowers were by Amandas flower shop in Wick, cars by Dunnets.

I've not totally finished it yet, but I was desperate to get the new style uploaded complete with some really cool new images.

Appreciate any feedback good or bad on the new version. E mail me at john@captiv8.uk.com

Thanks to Graham Arrowsmith of Practical Design for all his help with this project. Graham has designed all of my websites over the last three years and has produced exactly what I've asked for every time.

3rd August Inverness

Today saw us set off on another trip to the Highland capital for a wedding. Sarah MacPherson, Harris Road, Inverness and Euan Ferguson Loaneckheim, Kiltarlity were married at Kiltarlity Church before heading to The Spa Pavilion in Strathpeffer for the reception. Sarah was getting ready at a holiday cottage at Abreachin, overlooking Loch Ness, which was a beautiful spot. We went back there after the service for some pictures as well.

31st July Royal Visits

Today was a crazy day of covering HRH The Duke of Rothesay as he travelled around the area. He had four visits of which I covered three of them. He went to the Mission at Scrabster, the Art exhibition at Thurso High School, Castletown and then visited the Taste of Caithness and Sutherland Trade Show at Ackergill Tower.

28th July Kitty and William

Kitty Williamson and William Campbell, both of Heathfield Road, Thurso were married at Reay Church. First wedding I've done in the Reay church, and it was nice....but once again the rain scuppered the plans for some nice shots outside the church! We went to Forss and then Thurso Castle for some pictures and again it was totally dry there. Reception was at the Park Hotel.

27th July Laura and Richard

Laura Innes, Buldoo, Dounreay and Ricard Cormack, Dellness Avenue, Inverness were married at St Peters and St Andrews Church, Thurso. We went out to Sandside Estate for pictures but unfortunately the heavens opened when we got there. We managed to get some shots done and then headed to Forss for a few more, where it was totally dry. The reception was then held in the Weigh Inn.

21st July Lisa and Stephen

Lisa Calder, Crossroads Schoolhouse, Dunnet and Stephen Hendry, Harrow terrace Wick, were married at the Pentland Hotel in Thurso. The bride got ready at her mums at Dunnet, and we went out to East Mey after the service for pictures. The weather held for us long enough to finish what we were doing before the rain started again!

14th July Lauren & Angus

Lauren Bain, Murray Avenue, Wick and Angus Mackay of Fountain Square, Haster were married at Wick Old Parish Church. Reception at Mackays hotel.
It was a miserable day, but thanks to Lauren and Angus for being brave enough to head out to the Trinkie despite the conditions. We had a great time there, and I'm sure they will agree it was worth getting a little bit cold for!

12th July Clare and Steven at Ackergill Tower

Today was the wedding of Wick couple Clare Sturrock, East Banks and Steven Taylor Cairndhuna Terrace. They were married at Ackergill Tower. Reception was held at Mackays Hotel, Wick.
